Based on the original orchestral score by Holst, this is the first recording of a piano transcription of The Planets. Recorded at Bridges Hall of Music, Claremont, California, it also includes Holst's rarely heard Toccata for piano. During the 2015 season David Rubinstein gave world premiere performances of the work in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington, D.C.
